Tiling - Kendal

Initially we carefully chipped up the old tiles and under floor heating wires. The original tiles had begun to crack due to poor installation.

The floor is now fully cleared and supported, ready for the installation of the new tiles.

Thermal construction boards are then installed. These are used to provide added support to the subfloor. They also provide a thermal barrier between the subfloor and under floor heating wires. This ensures the heat from the under floor heating is radiated upwards, ensuring it is working effciently.

The under floor heating wires are then laid.

Level compound is then laid over the under floor heating wires. This is to protect the wires when tiling and create a level surface for tiling over.

Tiles fully laid and left for the adhesive to set ready for cleaning and grouting.

The tiles are now fully cleaned and grouted. They are ready for the under floor heating to be switched on and enjoyed!
